1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup soft cheese spread
1/4 cup soft shortening
21/4 cups flour

Beat in one more cup of flour, reserve 1/4 cup of flour for kneading. Beat until smooth. Turn into a well-greased bowl. Let rise until; double in bulk. (1 to 1 1/2 hours, depending on the temperature).

Punch down. Turn onto a well-greased floured board. Using the remaining 1/4 cup of flour. Knead lightly, adding a bit more flour if needed. Make rolls of desired size. Place in greased baking pan. Let rise until double in bulk.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake about 20 minutes. Makes 12 large buns.

Dough will be very soft and hard to handle.

Dough too soft to form into fancy shaped buns work well for cloverleaf rolls by placing 3 small balls of dough in muffin tins.
